SHARE
22.02.26
The final workshop of the first cycle, Share, invited participants to reflect on their experiences of living in Cyprus through letter writing. Building upon the themes explored in previous sessions, participants were encouraged to address Cyprus directly and consider the island as a place that had influenced, challenged, welcomed, or transformed them in different ways.
Through the format of a personal letter, participants explored memories, emotions, and reflections connected to their time on the island. Some focused on specific experiences, while others reflected on broader themes such as home, identity, belonging, adaptation, or cultural exchange. The writing process encouraged participants to articulate feelings that are often difficult to express in everyday conversation.
Once the letters were completed, participants worked in pairs and shared their texts with one another. These exchanges created opportunities for dialogue and allowed participants to discover common experiences despite their different backgrounds and personal journeys.
The workshop concluded with the recording of the letters, with participants invited to read their texts aloud in the language of their choice. These recordings transformed personal reflections into a collective archive of voices and experiences, highlighting the diversity of relationships that participants had developed with Cyprus throughout their time on the island.

Following the workshop, the Share format continued beyond the session itself. During the first exhibition of the project, and later over a period of two months in the shop space, visitors were also invited to contribute their own “Letter to Cyprus”. This extension opened the process to a wider public, allowing people who encountered the project to participate in an intimate and personal way. As a result, the archive gradually expanded, collecting new voices, perspectives, and experiences over time. Below are some of the contributions gathered during this extended phase of the project.
